"Yakima, Wash. -- A West Valley pizza parlor manager is accused of taking about $75,000 from the till over the course of 16 months, according to court documents.
Westside Pizza’s owner told Yakima police Sept. 1 that he became suspicious when the restaurant was struggling financially despite having a strong customer base and good reviews, according to a probable-cause affidavit. Westside Pizza, 140 S. 72nd Ave., had a three-star rating in Yelp and 4.5 stars on Facebook.
After reviewing records from the store’s cash-register system, the owner discovered that his manager, a 41-year-old Yakima man, had gone in and changed orders in the system to lower-priced items and pocketed the difference, the affidavit said."
